Re: Co-Worker Challenge
Ok so I really tried last week. It took me only having 2 weeks left and the fact that while everyone else was loosing weight I was gaining. I am SO PROUD of myself though. I continued my week by jogging and fast walking every morning. I fixed pancakes, eggs, and sausage for breakfast Sunday and I didn't eat any of it. I ate a light yogurt with granola and a banana! Also when I was at my in-laws house last night she ordered pizza and I ate 1 slice of cheese pizza. I didn't deny myself but I didn't sit and eat until I was horribly full.
Sooooooooooooooooooo.....................DRUM ROLL PLEASE........................ I am down 5lbs!!

I did not have any change in my weight this week, which really bugged me at first, but then I started thinking about how badly I ate last week, and realized that I didn't deprive myself. I had a few drinks, ate some french fries, etc. So basically with one week left, I'm not stressing too badly. I know that I'm not going to win, but I've managed to lose 5 lbs. I could have done worse, and at least we all had a decent time doing this together. Can't complain about that.

Maybe we should all swim like Michael Phelps and consume 4,000 calories per day?

So here it- the end of the competition. Today is supposed to be weigh in day, but Jen is out today and I'm thinking we should wait until tomorrow so we can all weigh on the same equipment. I'm not expecting any changes today; this past week was extremely stressful and I had more pressing issues keeping me occupied. I did work over the weekend and it was mostly manual work so at least that counts for something. Overall, I am pleased with what I have done. I wasn't nearly as tough on myself as Jen and Angie- they really deserve the credit for the sacrifices they made. But I am finally starting to notice some small changes on myself physically and that was really the bottom line for me. To lose a few pounds has been nice, and it made me realize just how slack I had gotten with diet and exercise. I definitely don't think I could have done this without Jen and Angie. We all cheered when we lost, and commiserated when the scale wouldn't budge. So with any luck we will all continue toward whatever the ultimate goal is for each of us and this gave us a really good start. Stay tuned for the final result...

co-worker challenge
Ok so I haven't posted very much lately. I was out of town most of last week without a computer & unable to post anything. Last week was a pretty good week. My husband & I went to the beach for a long weekend getaway. I didn't stick to my diet as good as I hoped I would but I didn't do too bad. We ate out more than we ever do here & I think thats what hurt me the most. We did go for walks but usually he wanted to ride around on the golf cart. I was nervous about weighing in yesterday but forgot that Jen wouldn't be here so we decided to wait on her and weigh in today instead. I gained 1 pound which I expected. Thats ok though. I'm still going to stick to my diet even though the competition is now over. I know that I couldn't have done any of this without all of Jen & shelley's motivation & support. My biggest goal was to not only lose weight but to have a baby too. I feel like I'm a lot closer to reaching that goal & I'm so proud of all of us for our accomplishments. (like walking up a hill without losing my breath, Shelley!)

Re: Co-Worker Challenge
So today was the final weigh in and I must say that this little weight loss challenge was the best thing for me. I lost a good amount of weight last December thru about March but then it seemed that the scale wouldn't go below that. I pushed myself these past 2 weeks and it paid off. This weigh in I was down 4lbs! So total weight loss was 11lbs. I must say that I am so proud of my co-workers! Shelley lost 5lbs and that is alot for a woman that looks perfect already! CONGRATULATIONS! And Angie lost 18lbs!!!!!!!! Can I just say that that is AWESOME! She is looking GREAT and I am sure that she will continue to loose weight and hopefully soon she will get her positive pregnancy test! (atleast now she knows how to get the baby weight off) CONGRATULATIONS to her too!!!! Also I must say thanks to everyone who followed us through this difficult but fun journey. Thanks for the motivational words of encouragement and the great tips! When I first started this I thought that if I could get down to the weight I was when me and Charles first got together then that would be great. I could get in a 2 piece bathing suit and feel comfortable.......... HA HA let me tell you something......... When you have a child EVERYTHING HANGS WRONG after that. Well atleast it did for me. Soooooo I am going to continue to try to loose about 11 more lbs which will put my BMI between a 20-21!!!!!! These past 2 weeks I have re-motivated myself and shown myself that I can do it! I just had to put my mind to it regardless of the situation. SO CONGRATULATIONS ANGIE FOR WINNING THE WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE!!!

Congratulations to Angie on her win! She totally earned it! Angie and Jen worked so hard to get where they did and they both had obstacles-like Angie's seemingly weekly vacations and Jen's stressful family issues. That they could keep motivated through that is really inspiring. My final weigh in there was no change, which I expected. I'm happy with what I have done and this past week have been hitting the treadmill pretty regularly. I leave for a cruise with Mark on Monday; my goal on that trip is to not gain too much! But I have been looking forward to this trip for too long to eat crackers and water. So when I get back, our office is actually signing up to participate in the 5k walk/run for breast cancer. So Angie and I (and any other willing coworkers) will be back to walking when our schedules allow. Jen and I are excited about something else to keep us motivated- our goal is to finish in under an hour. The race is in Oct, and I sure won't be running but maybe I can at least get some intervals in there! So with that to 'train' for perhaps I'll tone up a bit more, and Jen and Angie may lose a few more, which they are still working on. So wish us luck on the race...I for one will definitely need it!
