Where do you work out?
I am currently doing a 30 day trial membership at The Rush on Wendover. However, I am considering a variety of options. I do have the gym at UNCG but it is often very crowded and it is extremely difficult to even find a place to park and this discourages me from even wanting to go. I have been a member of the YMCA on Horse Pen Creek Rd but it is now too far from where I live. So this leads me to The Rush. So far I have found that I really enjoy that it is open 24/7 so I can no longer excuse myself from having to go to the gym because "I don't have time." I also really like that it has a separate work out room for women. Still, I want to look at all my options before I decide on a place to call my new gym. I guess I just wanted to open up a general discussion about where people work out and their experiences with their gym; or even if you don't work out at a gym...your experience with wherever it is you exercise. Maybe some of us work out at the same gym or enjoy using the outdoors as our gym OR even both.

Re: Where do you work out?
I also go to the Rush but I go to the one on Battleground and I LOVE IT! I can go whenever I need too and usually that means that I go at 9-10pm. I like the fact that it is not a bunch of muscle bound people walking around making me look even worse than I feel. Its a variety of people of all ages and all body types. I also like the fact that you can swim, work out, and participate in a variety of classes that are offered with no extra charge other than your membership dues. Good Luck in your search.

Re: Where do you work out?
I am also a member of RUSH for various reasons- Mainly convienence, operating hours, and the avalabilty of basketball.
I have been a memeber and have visited most all fitness centers in Greensboro over the past 15 yrs of being in the Fitness Field, most all are very nice and offer slightly different benefits to potential members. As you said in the post It sounds like convenience is very important to you, however a good trial membership is usually best to determine the apropriate fitness center for you.
hope this helps,
Mark

THE CLUB!!!!
I ended up joining "The Club" at Oak Branch. It is AWESOME. I decided against the Rush and just on a whim went to check out The Club and loved it. When I joined I didnt sign a contract, I got 14 days free, I got 4 free personal training sessions, a 30 day trial of some vitamins and nutrition bars, a free smoothie from their smoothie bar, and a 30 day trial of a program they have. The program is my favorite part. You get a free consultation with a trainer and they discuss your fitness goals, etc. and from their they design a personal workout plan for you. Everytime I go to the gym I just get my piece of paper with my daily workout which starts with a warm up, then weight lifting (the mechines are numbered and it makes it super easy to know where to go and what to do), then do abs, and then cardio. If I choose to continue with this program it is just $5 extra month and it really get me motivated to workout! It is close to where I live and where I workout. Although it isnt open 24'7 like the Rush it has really nice locker rooms with showers, a steam shower, etc.. The pool is also an olympic size pool and it plays music under water! LOVE IT!

Gym Search
Sounds great Cee Jay. Sounds like there are a lot of options out there. I'm impressed thet you are going close to where you live and work. That can make a big difference as to how often you continue, as time becomes a big issue.
